Have You Considered A Mobile Vet?

Let's discuss some of the pros and cons to possibly starting to use a mobile vet for your pets. It seems that mobile vets are becoming more and more popular today and can offer many advantages to a pet and the pet owner that just doesn't like going to the vet's office.

First let's talk about the pros of using a mobile pet doctor. For some animals going to the vet can be very stressful and traumatic having the vet come to your home eliminates that problem. If you have a dog that might be dog aggressive going to the vet can sometimes be a stressful situation for both of you and that doesn't exist when the vet comes to you.

Some more pros for a mobile vet include dogs that or maybe very shy or scared. Elderly people really enjoy the mobile services because it makes it much easier for them to be able to handle their dog at home than in the vet's office. For households with multiple dogs having a vet come to you can always make life easier. If you're a breeder or have a young puppy having a vet come to you is sometimes much safer for the puppy in the fact that it's not being exposed to other dogs in a typical vet clinic.

Of course I could go on and on with the pros for having vets come to your home but now let's discuss some of the cons.

First of all having a vet come to your home does cost more than the typical office visit to your brick-and-mortar vet. Part of that expense is due to the fact that the mobile doctor cannot see as many patients in one day and of course he has the expense of his mobile vet office.

Scheduling an appointment sometimes can take longer with your mobile vet than in a typical office so for routine care you need to be sure and schedule ahead of time. For emergency treatments when you need a vet today you may need to always have a backup vet if your mobile vet is unable to get to you quickly.

Most mobile vets are able to offer a large range of services right from their mobile office. However sometimes they may be unable to perform certain procedures that would require specialized equipment. Again in those cases having a traditional vet on hand is advisable.

If you're interested in trying the services of a mobile vet simply Google them and give one a try. I think you'll find for most people the pros outweigh the cons, hopefully you'll enjoy the service and the benefits.
