Mobile dog grooming has become a big business. It seems that I see at least two or three mobile groomer trailers or vehicles every day. Just like everything else there are pros and there are cons to using a mobile groomer. Let's talk about some of those pros and the very few cons now.

I think probably on the top of the list is the convenience of not having to take your dog to the grooming salon and then turn around and go back a couple of hours later to pick it up. Another real pro is the fact that your dog is getting real one on one attention. There aren't other dogs being groomed at the same time so that means the groomer's attention is completely on your dog. Because of this it is less likely that there will be any type of accident.

A lot of dog owners like the fact that there is less stress on the dog and it's more comfortable than having to go to a typical salon. If you are the type of person who tries to give his dog as few vaccines as possible by using a mobile groomer you won't be required to have a kennel cough vaccine. Using a mobile groomer just seems to be a much calmer experience for your dog and if you have older dogs I really feel that it's better for them.

If you have one of those dogs that gets car sick and doesn't travel well then a mobile groomer is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's a fact that if your dog finds the trip to the salon stressful it will get to a point where it hates the groomer.

I used to feel that it was only the rich people who paid the extra money to have a mobile service but that isn't true. Yes a mobile groomer will be more expensive than a traditional salon however there are so many benefits that for some people it's definitely worth the added expense.

One comment I've heard from some dog owners is that the fact that they were not able to watch their dog as it was being groomed. They would prefer that their dog were groomed in an open area where they could watch through a window and make sure their dog was not being mistreated. Some mobile groomer's actually have windows on their vehicle so that you can watch while your dog is being groomed.
