There Is A Dog Breed For Every Lifestyle!

Even though selecting the right breed of dog for you and your family seems like it should be easy in all actuality it is not. There are so many breeds to choose from with so many different characteristics. However if you'll follow some of the tips below and take time to do some research I know you can find the right dog.

So let's start off with, are you thinking about a big dog are little dog? A lot of that depends on where you house the dog. Do you live in a small apartment, or do have a house with a nice backyard, or possibly do live in the country. These are all things to think about when you're selecting a dog.

Now let's talk about lifestyle. Is your family real active? Do you enjoy going for long walks or hikes? Maybe you are older and not quite as active. Yes, these things that are all very important. If you're an active person you'll want to get a dog that enjoys going for walks or hikes like a Labrador Retriever.

For an older person quite often a smaller dog is much more appropriate. In fact I find quite a few families that are used to larger dogs switch to smaller dogs as they get older and the kids leave home. They end up getting a smaller dog that can be a lapdog you can love on.

Let's talk about the dog's coat. Are you willing to do a bunch of grooming or would you prefer a dog that doesn't require a lot of grooming? While were talking about the dog's coat let's talk about shedding. Do you mind having a little hair around the house and vacuuming more often? If you do then you'll probably want to get a dog that does not shed or sheds very little.

Is anybody in the family allergic to dog dander? If so you'll want to consider a breed that is hypoallergenic or at least doesn't have as much dander. Any of the doodles that are at least a third generation doodle are great for this. However if you're looking for a smaller dog a Bichon Frise just may be the answer and they hardly shed as well.

As you can see there are many things to consider when selecting the right dog for your family. However it doesn't have to be that difficult. There are some websites online that can offer you some advice. Here are Two that will help you select the perfect dog for you and your family.
