Finding Pets Made Easy

Today, at almost every residence, we find a pet, which is literally the mascot of their houses. Different breeds of dogs, cats, parrots, hamsters, mice, fish are available today in the pet trade. It does not stop there, as people also have a knack for keeping exotic pets such as reptiles (venomous snakes, boa constrictors, tortoises, alligators, monitor lizards, Iguanas), insects (scorpions, tarantulas, mantis) and amphibians (African Bullfrogs, Pixie frogs and Salamanders) too! Also, many different rare colors, variants, subspecies exist within each species.

Therefore, the task to find a pet is much more complex than you think!

There are many phases to consider in successfully finding, maintaining and keeping a pet as a member of your family. They are Pet Feasibility, Find a Pet, Pet Maintenance, Pet Actualization. Let us look at them in brief:

* Pet Feasibility: It means determining if having a pet is right for your home. It involves gauging various factors such as cost for keeping a pet, whether you can afford it in terms of finance, accommodation space, do you have the skills, knowledge, and basic information necessary to care for it, and accumulation of all the necessary data that helps in the prediction of feasibility. Also, many laws exist in different states, countries about what pets are allowed and what are prohibited and/or available!

* Find a Pet: This phase involves finding the right pet for the right home. It is a best-fit approach. Which type of pet do you want? Maybe you would like a playful dog, a cuddly kitten, an intelligent parrot, or maybe an exotic reptile? Once the type is decided, then comes the color, subtype, gender and breed. Then there is the question of whether you want a juvenile or an adult (maybe from a Shelter, or lost and found). Here, we would like to strongly recommend that you adopt a pet from a lost and found institution or the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). These animals have no home, and being partially domesticated, they lack the survival skills of the wild. Adoption is not only the most humane thing to do but you cannot measure the amount of love an adopted animal can give to you!

* Pet Maintenance: This is a most important phase, but unfortunately fails to receive much needed attention! It means giving your pet the respect, love and care it deserves. No living being wishes to be abused willingly. It involves acting responsibly, like cleaning that long overdue fish tank or washing and grooming Fido... or feeding your hungry python! Also, it involves fencing your yard so that your pet does not end up in the 'lost and found' department of the RSPCA.

Today, many GPS (Global Positioning System) chips or electronic tracker chips are installed in collars or inside skins of pets in order to track their movements. Due to emerging technologies today, fewer and fewer pets are finding themselves in the lost and found departments.

* Pet Actualization: This means that your pet lives a self-actualized happy life. The pet finds a meaning to its existence. Any pet will prefer to never be lost instead of lost and found!

Today, there exist many apps for simplifying all of the above phases. Clawpal is one such app we recommend. It has all the features necessary to smoothen out the decision making time required in each phase. We wish you all the very best in searching for your new family member!
